Formula and calculation method

Hours = 40 × complete weeks + 8 × remaining Monday-to-Friday days − 8 × public holidays outside Sunday.

Worked example

The calculator counts complete weeks, remaining weekdays and qualifying Polish public holidays, then scales the total for part-time work.

Limitations

  • An individual schedule, another working-time system, overtime, leave or absence can change the employee’s actual hours.

Frequently asked questions

Does a public holiday on Saturday reduce working time?

Yes. A statutory holiday falling on a day other than Sunday reduces the period by eight hours.

Is the result a work schedule?

No. It is the nominal total; the employer determines the actual schedule.
